My Potters Hand....

today during praise and worship I was still able to praise as fervently as I did last week. I had my eyes closed, honoring God and having a quiet moment with Him when I saw this lump of clay on a potters wheel. I knew that the lump of clay was me.
I think that sometimes we forget that we are a work in progress and that the work of the Potter is never done. Sometimes we need to be re-shaped and re-molded (I wonder if He would consider re-shaping my body too? ha ha). If you have ever seen a potter at work he takes and ugly piece of clay and with his hands on the clay and hit foot on the thing that makes the wheel spin, the clay becomes something of beauty....one of a kind. The potter never takes his hand off of the clay....his hand is firm....his hand is stable....his hand is gentle.
How blessed I am to be held in the hands of the greatest potter....in me He is creating a masterpiece.
You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And we are all the work of Your hand...Jeremiah 64:8

THis is beautiful Rachel. Hannah Whitall SMith reminded me in her book, written back in the 1800's, that at every point - no matter what form it takes or at which level of progress - the clay pleases the Potter and is exactly what He means for it to be, rigth then. It's not that He'll be pleased once it's done. That was profound for me as I realize I'm still spinning! :)

Michelle...we are still spinning and sometimes at a pace where it is dizzy-ing!
